Subject: Red Oak
Comments: The top of the red oak in my front yard died over the winter. The tree was planted two years ago and did fine last year. This spring the top third is coming in sparsely, while the bottom two thirds look good. I went up on a ladder and confirmed that some if not all of the branches are dead. If I cut away the dead wood at the top, will the tree have a chance of growing and looking well-shaped. Or should I take it out and plant something elseThanks.
